The Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Mizoram (H&FW Dept.) on November 18, 2025, issued a notification implementing the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Coronary Care Units (CCU) across all hospitals in the State. The decision follows the directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 19 August 2025.
The notification states that the Governor of Mizoram has approved the adoption of these SOPs in the interest of public service. The SOP aims to standardize critical care practices, improve patient safety, and ensure uniformity in ICU and CCU functioning across government and private health facilities.
Hospitals in Mizoram are required to implement the enclosed ICU–CCU SOP immediately and continue to follow it until further orders. The SOP document is attached with the notification for reference and compliance.
